The writer and director Steven Silver (and can not be done by photographer Miroslaw Baszak) captures this brutal times - which led to the country's first free multiracial elections in 1994 and the years of apartheid - sometimes lively, often daring, but never intrusive.

Group owner, named for his fearless approach to photographing the chaos death defying middle pillar included Greg Marinovich (Ryan Phillippe), drug charmer Kevin Carter (Taylor Kitsch of the television series "Friday Night Lights"), pro Ken Oosterbroek (Frank Rautenbach) and hard Joao Silva (Neels van Jaarsveld). The quartet worked hard and played hard, made in the heady world of employment with high levels of adrenaline, while capturing indelible images that have traveled around the world via newspapers and magazines.

Club members act as individuals and as a whole, offers an exciting, compelling treatment, even though it is mainly Marinovich - and to a lesser extent - Carter's story. (These two were awarded the Pulitzer Prize for their work). And even though the screenplay, based on the 2001 memoirs is Marinovich and Silva, does not dig especially deep into the main characters of "clearly a complex psyche each of the four men actually get a single heroic, sometimes tragic, and yes, a bit 'neutral.

Cast, Malin Akerman, which also includes a beautiful picture of a journalist who rent, and then falls in love with Greg is uniformly strong, credible, accentuating all the non-native artists.

Filmed in and around Johannesburg, the film offers a number of substantive issues of trade: What are the responsibilities of a photojournalist than just the image? Can you ever go far to ensure plans? What makes a good photo? The answers may be more elusive than specific, often leaving the viewer to determine, but the issues still resonate, especially in light of the death Wednesday photographer Tim Hetherington and Chris Hondros in a mortar attack in Libya.
